Would it be alright to have Kyubey appear in off-screen moments in RPs? Like how he would occasionally give advice to the girls in the anime or inform them of something (ex. when Madoka threw Sayaka's soul gem off the bridge and he told them what the soul gems really were) or are our Puella Magi not supposed to learn these things?

Their Wish: Born in 1941 and growing up in the 1950s’, Hayden wanted to see the future more than anything else in the world. What would the world be like a decade from now? A century? Would it be just like in the science fiction movies? He wanted to know. He didn’t care if it meant spending the rest of his days fighting Witches; a mere glimpse of the world in a good few years would be enough for him. That’s why, when the opportunity arose to become a Puella Magi and have his wish granted, he took up the offer immediately without thinking over the consequences. And thus he was whisked away from his home of 1954 Los Angeles to present day as we “future dwellers” know it, unable to return home because of his impulsive wish.

Their Transformation: Curly, burgundy-coloured hair, fair complexion, noticeable freckles on both cheeks, green eyes. Puella Magi outfit consists of white collared shirt with short, puffy sleeves, tan vest, red floppy bowtie, emerald green cloak (ties around the shoulders, flows out in the back), bloomers (relatively short ones, stop about mid-thigh) of the same colour with bows on each outer side, white tights, brown knee-high boots, and a Robin Hood-style cap with a red feather. Soul gem is in the form of a cuff with a green star on it on his right wrist. Weapon is a bow and arrow; carries a quiver of arrows like one would expect any archer to.

Regular dress consists of a blue collared work shirt (always tucked in), khaki pants, and black shoes.

Role-play Sample:

“That’s the last one.”

He was talking to himself again. This was not an uncommon thing for him, at this point, but it worried him. A chipper young man such as himself got lonely without some companionship. He had been in the time period for a while now. Maybe it was about time he made himself some friends.

But then how in the world would he explain his random disappearances to them? It was doubtful they would believe him if he simply told them he was a magical boy and scampered off to fight Witches when necessary. But without friends, well… he felt he might go insane.

Perhaps he could befriend other Puella Magi? Oh, but fighting Witches was awfully dangerous. If something were to happen to them… He would never get over that. Every day his brain would remind him how one of his friends died, how he stood helplessly by and watched, replaying their death in his head over and over and over…

He was considering taking his chances. He was showing some pretty bad withdrawl signs already.

Hayden sighed and slung his bow over his shoulder as the Witch’s barrier around him faded. They had been popping up like no tomorrow today, but no one else seemed to want to get rid of them, so he was left to do the job on his own. He started wondering if he was the only Puella Magi around. If that wasn’t so then he was certainly curious as to the whereabouts of the others.

He picked up the Grief Seed left behind by the Witch as his costume changed back to his regular clothes. Looking at his soul gem, he came to the conclusion that he may have been overexerting himself lately. It would go completely dark at this rate. Perhaps he should be leaving the little ones that didn’t drop Grief Seeds alone for now; they didn’t cause much harm anyway. At the moment, he was able to clear his soul gem with the Grief Seed he just obtained. He was safe, at least for another day.

Wait.

It wasn’t too far from here, but there was something… off. He couldn’t be sure what, but there was some disturbance. Another Witch, maybe?

“Christ. What now?”

Their Desire: A scholar who somehow managed to graduate from one of the more storied institutions in Massachusetts, Miskatonic University, without experiencing anything too out of the ordinary, his new studies bring him across some family heirlooms. Journals and notes penned by a famous magician and scientist five centuries ago and intrusted to Adam’s ancestors. Some are impossible firsthand accounts seemingly dictated, others revolve around the study of some odd gems, of which there is a single example. Wagner’s looking for answers. He doesn’t know what he’s stumbled upon, but he knows it’s big. Very big.
Role-play Sample:

He had expected a secret passage way to open or the wall to swing up, something out of an adventure game, but the masonry and mortar coming to pieces really caught him off guard. And it didn’t just disintegrate into a heap of dust either. If one of those stones had fallen on him he’d really be in trouble.

As is he was coughing something fierce. He was glad he’d found the bathroom already, stumbling around the old German manor blind wasn’t ideal, doing it lost would have been nightmarish.

He cleaned his glasses in the antique sink and decided his pant legs would get his hands dry enough, no need to go poking around for the linen closet. As he pulled out his phone and set it to flashlight he couldn’t help but wonder what was inside. Another set of old guns? Jewels? An arcane summoning circle? Secret alchemical formulas?

He put a stop to those thoughts. Best not to get ahead of himself, lest he be disappointed.

Stepping carefully over the pile of stone and rotten mortar he found himself in an expansion of the basement. It was about as third as big as the rest of the basement, although he was reasonably certain there wasn’t any building over this extension, just dirt.

The light revealed book shelves with various curios, old tomes, even a few scrolls. Some jars things likely once floated in. Something glinted in one of the corners, catching his eye.

Wagner crossed the old stone floor, worried that booby traps out of an Indiana Jones movie would deploy at any second and impale him. But he reached the corner without incident.

On a low table sat an antique book stand flanked by two candles that likely hadn’t been lit since the second to last turn of the century. Before the stand on a gilded plate was what looked like a Fabregé egg with a striking yellow crystal for its center coated in a fine layer of dust. It seemed to glow in the light of his phone, although a noticeable dark tarnish covered part of it.

On the book stand was a leather bound tome. Leaning over and blowing the dust of decades if not centuries off the cover he could make out a title.

Are we able to use characters of a different anime for original characters in this group?

Crossovers! Interesting idea! Don’t suppose why not! You’d have to mention the show that they’re from, and they wouldn’t actually be listed under original characters. Hm… Sure!

Become A Puella Magi is a brand spanking new role-play group that needs members desperately! Live out your dream, make a wish, and fight to save the world as a magical girl! Or, if you’d rather, you can be an incubator, a regular human (with or without the desire to make a contract!) You can even play as one of the canon characters, or a terrible Witch! Anything is possible when you’re magic!

Currently, we have two canon characters! Kyoko Sakura and Mami Tomoe! Though always accepting canon characters, we’re looking for more original characters, and encourage users to be creative! Also, a big thank you to those who have followed us thus far! We hope you will soon make a Contract with me… and become a Puella Magi!

If I were to role play a original character, am I able to work with any time period? As I have a character who's timeline is based in the past. (I have both an ancient and modern-ish character) Would I be able to role-play as her? Or would I have to play within the canon timeline?

Because of a little Kyubey magic, you’ll be able to work with any time period! We encourage users to be creative, and make all sorts of characters, that range from time, nations, (and if you really wanna get crazy, planets and universes!) But remember, interaction plays a big role here. Socialization is highly encouraged, so if you’re billions and billions of miles away in another universe, make sure to have a creative way of being able to throw yourself into our world!

“Sorry for ruining your great day,” The golden-haired girl grinned as she wacked the small, pink witch with the butt of one of her rifled percussion-lock muskets, a smug gleam in her bright amber eyes. “I’ll finish you off!”

Without hesitation, she began to fire, and with little resistance from Charlotte, she expected this to be over rather soon. As she expected, she soon had the witch on the floor, nose of the musket pressed against its head.

Charlotte lifted herself up, golden strands supporting the little pink witch as Mami readied her Tiro Finale, which, when fired, hit the witch square in the chest.

The golden Puella Magi froze, her eyes wide, she realised her mistake. She didn’t even have time to run as a large, black something erupted from the witch and zoomed down towards Mami, jaws wide open, shark-like teeth bared.

It was over before she could blink.

Role-play Sample: Frozen still,Kyoko stared down at the ground. Her body shook violently as while her chest rises and drops heavily. Her red eyes become enlarged as she sees the dark liquid laying around on the ground. “Come on Sayaka. Let’s not play games. Get up already.” Kyoko called out from her spot. She waited for a response. The longer the pause the more her body shook. “Sayaka. Dammit. Stand up!” She cursed.

“No. No. No. This can’t be true.” She trembled. Finally able to move, she ran towards Sayaka, dropping to her knees. She learned forward and lifted the body into her arms and held tightly onto the body.

“Come on brat. You can’t give up. Not like this. You can’t die.” Her words stuttered out of her. Her throat was closing from the force of trying to not to cry. But that was a fail. And soon the tears started to flow and heated up Kyoko’s cheeks.

“You really piss me off, ya know. You really piss me off when you won’t let me help you. Why wouldn’t you let me help you?” Kyoko sobbed. “Why did you have to think you could do it all on your on? I only wanted to help you. Why wouldn’t you let me. WHY?” Kyoko argued with herself.

“I don’t want you to be alone. I saw how miserable you were. I never wanted to see you like that again. I wanted to see you fulfill those deeds and wishes of yours. I wanted to see you smile….with me….for me….why didn’t you wait for me to get here to help you? You idiot.” The red head spat out to the air.

She laid the body down in front of her. “Tch. I’m going to see you become happy.”

“You reminded me why I contracted in the first place. I’ve done what I’ve wished for. Arigatou. Thank you for helping me fulfill it.”
